BEST friends Tracy and Sue are celebrating life-changing weight loss with their local Slimming World group at the Rockwell Green Christian Centre.

Established in Alfreton, Derbyshire, in 1969, Slimming World prides itself on its unique approach to weight management. It became an alternative to the weight loss programmes at the time, providing a positive support system to encourage clients to build new healthier habits for life.

Led by their consultant, Lauren Brock, Tracy and Sue found a haven in the local Slimming World community.

Tracy said: “We were struggling with our weight, could not walk far or very well, and were in a lot of pain. Sue relied on a mobility scooter to get around. It wasn’t until we saw some pictures from a lunch out together that we realised how much weight we had gained.

“We were unable to be as active as we used to be but were both very able to eat.”

The women decided to join the local Rockwell Green Slimming World group to begin their weight-loss journey in March 2023.

Tracy: “We were welcomed straight away by the members in the group, and our consultant, Lauren. We were introduced to the plan ‘Food Optimising’, and Image Therapy in group - and we have never looked back.”

As the weight began to drop, Tracy and Sue started to embrace new activity, working through Slimming Worlds unique ‘body magic’ program.

Tracy added: “We started swimming together and found little ways to be active at home which has benefited us massively.”

By Christmas that year, Tracy and Sue had lost almost five stone between them - and Sue no longer relies on the scooter to get around.

In March, groups took part in Slimming World’s ‘Two Together’ competition for 2024 which celebrates all ‘duos’ who aim to get trim together. Tracy and Sue were voted the winners by their group.

Consultant Lauren said: “Competition weeks are always special, and Tracy and Sue really are an inspirational duo! Their friendship, excitement, determination and laughs have spread through our group since they joined.
