HEMYOCK villager Julie Jennings, who has been involved with Scouting for many years in the village and further afield, says that Hemyock Beavers is going from strength to strength.

She says the youngest group in the Scouting Association has 23 members and the Cubs are as usual full with 30 youngsters.

Julie’s work in the association was recently noted when she accepted the Award for Merit in recognition of Outstanding Services to Scouting.

Tiverton District Commissioner Andy Ellis made the presentation and Julie was delighted that she received her medal and badge from Megan and Alfie, two of her grandchildren, who are both members of the Cub pack.
