MORE than £3,000 was raised in 2023 for the Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) by staff of builders merchants RGB Building Supplies.

Staff in the firm’s Wellington and Wiveliscombe branches took part in a number of initiatives during the year, culminating in a Christmas jumper day.

The fund-raising included a swear box put in all of the company’s branches at the beginning of December.

The light-hearted bad language initiative also had the support of customers.

RGB in Wiveliscombe manager Adrian Borchardt said: “We are thrilled to see the incredible support from our customers and staff throughout the year.

“The funds raised will make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families supported by Children’s Hospice South West.

“We extend our sincere thanks to everybody who participated in our initiatives and made generous donations.”

The children’s hospice provides vital care and support for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.

The charity operates three hospices across the Westcountry, offering respite and end-of-life care, as well as a range of practical and emotional support services.

RGB is continuing its support for CHSW in 2024 and has planned a further round of fund-raising initiatives.
