A 'quirky' art exhibition is set to take over Fore Street's Pop-up Shop from Friday, June 5.

Run by fine art student Diane Goring, the show will raise money for charity, with proceeds going to local groups Transition Town Wellington and the League of Friends of Wellington Hospital.

The exhibition runs until June 10, and will be open between 10 am and 5pm. Admittance is free, with voluntary donations welcome.

Diane will also host a number of workshops from the Pop-up Shop, including 'drawing for the terrified' on June 6 and a watercolour workshop on June 7.

The workshops are free to attend and all materials will be supplied.

The event will be Ms Goring's first solo exhibition. She said: "All of the artwork has been related to the beautifully illustrated Transition Town foraging map.

"The work is unusual, ethereal and quirky. Following the map has been a joy and the exhibition is about celebrating the hard work that the Transition Town members undertake in helping to preserve our planet and the local land.

"The League of Friends of Wellington Hospital devote a lot of time and work tirelessly to raise money to support the hospital. Having received excellent support and services from the hospital, the exhibition is my small way of hopefully giving something back."
