Wellington's Operatic Society is hosting 'a showcase of songs' at the town's art centre this month.

Formed in 1995, the group is this year marking 28 years of taking their songs on tour.

Since their early gigs at the Lydeard St Lawrence village hall the group have continued to tour the area and entertain the community. Most recently, the operatic society performed in Vivary Park for Taunton's Bowls Club.

Now they are gearing up for a Wellington concert, dubbed "A Showcase of Songs" the event is set to highlight some of the many songs in the group's repertoire.

Taking place at the Wellington Arts Centre on October 14 from 2.30 pm to 7.30 pm, admittance is free - although donations will be 'gratefully received.'
