A PICK-UP vehicle caught alight while being driven through the Blackdown Hills over the weekend.

On Sunday, March 2, fire control received a call in the Ring Down Common area of Blackdown hills from the owner of vehicle which had caught alight while being driven.

A fire engine was dispatched to attend to the scene where the car was found on private land well alight.

Crews extinguished the fire, but the pick-up style vehicle was reportedly completely destroyed.

The incident was confirmed to be accidental.
