POLICE have arrested a man following the suspected burglary of a restaurant in Wellington town centre.
Avon and Somerset Police were understood to have been called to the Tamarind Bay restaurant at around 5.15am. Officers arrested a man in his 40s on suspicion of burglary and he remains in police custody.
Members of the public noticed one of the glass doors at the restaurant had been boarded up and contacted the Wellington Weekly News.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We were called at around 5.15am this morning (Wednesday, February 26) to a restaurant in High Street, Wellington, following a suspected burglary.
"Officers arrived and arrested a man in his 40s on suspicion of burglary. He remains in police custody."
