CCTV has been released after a number of people in masks have been seen snooping around cars and homes in a Mid Devon village.

Police are appealing for information on the incidents which were reported overnight between Monday, November 25, and Tuesday, November 26, in Sampford Peverell.

Officers have also conformed a report of an attempted burglary.

The Cullompton police team was on patrol in the village on Tuesday night and organised a street surgery at the Tennis Court Car Park that morning for concerned residents.

Devon and Cornwall Police have posted an online appeal, requesting residents to check any doorbell or CCTV footage. There has been a spate of burglaries throughout Devon.

Detective Inspector Guy Biggar said: “We are currently investigating a number of burglaries that have all taken place overnight from Monday, November 25, to Tuesday, November 26.

“It is not clear that they are all linked but as part of our investigation we are asking for residents in these areas to check their personal CCTV or doorbell cameras to see if they have any footage which may help with our enquiries.”
