A dog walker has blamed 'stupid fly tippers' after encountering dumped catering waste on an afternoon stroll.

Angela Boyd, from Westford, came across what appeared to be empty cooking oil containers dumped in a ditch near Whiteball.

Ms Boyd branded the dumped rubbish 'ridiculous' and called for better ways to dispose of waste. She said:

"I thought it was ridiculous. There has got to be proper disposal facilities at the tip for these things.

"It's so stupid - but not unusual - these country lanes have rubbish in the gateways ever other day."

Ms Boyd reported the incident to her local council who are said to have pledged to investigate.
