Holy Communion in St Mary’s will be held on the following two Sundays, November 17 and 24, at 11 am.

Wednesday, November 27, will see the church welcome the local cub and beavers groups at 5.30 pm for their carol service, where again everybody is welcome.

Advance church notices include a Christmas tea with stalls on December 7, a Stanchester Choir visit on December 15, and a carol service on December 17.

Currently, members of Hemyock Shedders together with the Poppy Club have a Remembrance display in the churchyard of St Mary’s.

And year one pupils from the village primary school have planted two newly-constructed raised flowerbeds in the churchyard and will maintain them.

School co-ordinator Helen Lang worked with members of Hemyock Gardeners Association, who gave advice, plants, and their time, while parents and Old Trickey’s Flower Farm gave seeds.

The children explored the natural environment of the churchyard and looked forward to continuing their work and finding out about the exterior and interior of the church.
